Pouring On House, 2018

A short film that engages with the gradual event of leaving my longtime family home. This strange grief is caught between the familiarity and fascination of interiors and the surrounding suburban sites. Both the village and house (formerly sites for ordnance production and worker accommodation respectively) transition again, subjected to new developments.

Throughout the mostly quiet film, a body surveys these potential presences of contamination whilst coming to realise a disorientating hopelessness felt from ongoing anti-queer conditioning.

The film is named after one of the ordnance factory's buildings used for the mixing process of nitroglycerine explosive. Made with assistance by Tako Taal.
