Strew, 2019

Whilst biting nails and viciously picking the skin away at my fingers with various tools, Strew used the retelling of an accident with my thumb, alongside recent microaggressions I encountered - primarily the witnessing of a colleagues transphobic rant, in order to splay out a loose and responsive narrative with urgent tension (made and performed in the week of the 2019 general election).

This 'splaying' of body and story was further intensified with the setup of a mirror and live camera feed projected ahead of me. Different registers of speech and microphones were used to embody the 'characters' at play - myself, colleague, internal monologue.
