We Can Be Your Daddy, 2018

We Can Be Your Daddy was conceived upon the discovery of my teenage ex-first-love’s Instagram account which showcases his new found fatherhood to surrogate twins. The performance expanded upon this shock to imagine the gallery as a mutual-help group for those with ‘daddy issues’.

Through awkward text recital (such as fake accent, plant in the audience, body paint and borrowed garments) I went through the rounds of my issues and fantasies – biological, technological, and sensory – to become host to a certain anxiety for a moment.
